Choose the format
Print the PDF, use the workbook formulas, or import the CSV. For CSV imports, keep or skip the four lines beginning with # as your software requires; the next line contains the eight field names.

Record the work
Add the dates, system or item, work performed, who did it, cost, next due date, and where supporting records are stored.

Keep the evidence together
Reference receipts, invoices, warranties, manuals, and photos without placing passwords or access codes in a shared copy. For contractors, note the date and source used to check a license, certification, or insurance.

Why keep the record
Receipts and warranty records are easier to use when you can find them
The Federal Trade Commission recommends saving a warranty and the product receipt together. Its document-retention guidance also lists home-improvement receipts and major-appliance sales receipts and warranty information among records to keep while you own the item or property. Read the FTC guidance on warranties and which documents to keep or shred.
For a future home sale, IRS Publication 523 explains that some qualifying improvements may add to adjusted basis, while ordinary repairs and maintenance generally do not. Keep the records that apply to your situation and review the current IRS Publication 523. This template is not tax advice.
Storage and privacy
A blank download contains no personal data. Once you fill it in, keep it somewhere you control, limit access, and do not record passwords, payment-card numbers, alarm codes, or entry codes in a shared copy.
Limits of a blank log
The template does not inspect a home, set safe maintenance intervals, diagnose a condition, or establish that work was required. Follow the installed product instructions and local requirements, and use qualified help when the scope or safety is uncertain.
License and attribution
The blank PDF, XLSX, and CSV templates are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. The license permits sharing and adaptation with attribution and change disclosure. It does not license SeasonKeep trademarks, software, or the underlying 227-rule maintenance catalog.
